DOH-CHD-CAR REASSURES ELIGIBLE HEALTH CARE WORKERS OF SPECIAL RISK ALLOWANCE DISBURSEMENT

The Department of Health – Center for Health Development – CAR reassures eligible recipients of the Special Risk Allowance (SRA) in the region that they will receive the said benefit.
Administrative Order (AO) No. 42 dated June 1, 2021 authorizes the continued grant of the COVID-19 SRA, as previously provided under AO 36 series of 2020. The benefit is a prorated amount not exceeding PhP 5,000.00 per month for public and private health care workers (HCWs) who cater directly to COVID-19 patients, and is pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 11494 or the “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act”, as well as RA 11519 which extended the appropriations stated under RA 11494 until June 30, 2021.
Following the clamor from HCWs who were not able to receive their SRAs for the period of December 20, 2020 to June 30, 2021, the DOH requested for an additional PhP 882M from the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for the disbursement of the additional list of recipients of the said allowance.
During the online DOH Beat COVID-19 Media Forum held September 6, 2021, Usec. Maria Rosario Vergeire said that the SRA funds will be downloaded to the different CHDs and hospitals as soon as possible once the DBM issues the Special Allotment Release Order (SARO) for the amount.
In CAR, a total amount of PhP 48,769,943.50 has been disbursed to 2,880 HCWs as of 5:00 pm of September 07, 2021.
DOH-CHD-CAR advises eligible recipients of the SRA in the region to consult the management / human resources section of the facility they work under for updates regarding the release of their benefit.
